Farmers demand revival of Shakambhari sugar mill

Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers have demanded that the government should take steps to revive the Shakambhari sugar mill, which is not in operation for the last eight years, reports Amarujala.

The farmers have sent a letter to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding the revival of the sugar mill.

Farmers organised a meeting at a gate of the closed sugar mill and raised the problems that they are facing due to its closure.

Addressing the gathering, former MLA Naresh Saini said that the government should take steps to reopen the mill from the upcoming crushing season. Saini assured farmers that he will soon meet the CM and put forward their demand of reviving the mill.
