Farmers should cultivate new variety of sugarcane: Experts

Moradabad: A sugarcane farmers’ fair began on Thursday in Kanth, Uttar Pradesh, which is being organized by the Kanth Cooperative Cane Development Committee. It will be organized from September 15 to 25, reported Live Hindustan.

The fair is aimed at addressing the concerns of sugarcane farmers in the region. Farmers can bring their sugarcane-related problems to the fair for resolution.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kanth MLA Kunwar Sushant Singh said that the fair is a valuable opportunity for farmers to get help and advice from experts. He urged farmers to take advantage of the fair to improve their sugarcane production.

Senior sugarcane development inspector from Dewan Sugar Mill, Arvind Kumar, said that sugarcane in the region has been affected by several diseases this year. He advised farmers to plant only high-quality sugarcane varieties.

District sugarcane officer Ramkishan said that the government will take all necessary measures to address the concerns of sugarcane farmers. He urged farmers to be vigilant about diseases and plant new varieties of sugarcane.

The fair is being attended by farmers, sugarcane development officials, and representatives from sugarcane mills.
