Farmers urge CM Bommai to revive MySugar sugar factory

Mandya: Sugarcane farmers have urged Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to revive the Mysugar factory. They met the CM when he was on his way to Mysuru on Monday.

According to the news report published in starofmysore.com, farmer leader Sunanda Jayaram met CM at Gejjalagere Gate and submitted the memorandum regarding the revival of the Mysugar factory.

She reminded him that the former chief minister B. S. Yediyurappa had promised to resume the factory with the help of private players but the move was strongly opposed.

A delegation of farmers under the leadership of former CM H. D. Kumaraswamy had then met the CM and opposed the privatization of the sugar factory. The BJP CM then had promised to revive the sugar factory soon, she said.

CM Bommai has assured the farmers that he will soon discuss the issue with the officials and take steps to start the factory from this year.
