e-Way bill is mandatory for the inter-State movement of goods across the country, including the state Maharashtra w.e.f 01-04-2018. Every registered person who causes inter-State movement of goods of consignment value exceeding Rs. 50,000/- as the supplier, or as the recipient, needs to generate the e-Way bill. Ms.Shaila A. -Joint Commissioner of State Tax Border Check Post, Maharashtra State said that there is an apprehension that some transporters in Maharashtra are transporting goods without generation of e-way bills. Therefore on 04/04/2018 she asked the concerned persons to pay attention,anyone causing movement of goods, without generating e-way bill, wherever due will be liable for strict action from the Department.
