Goa government assures sugarcane farmers that Sanjivani sugar mill will procure cane for next 3 years

Ponda, Goa: The sugarcane cultivators from Goa were relieved as the state government has assured them that the Sanjivani sugar mill will continue to purchase sugarcane from them for the next three years. According to the news report published in the Times of India, Govind Gaude said sugar mill would procure canes cultivated by cane growers as usual for the next three years.

Also, the government has ruled out the possibility of shutting down the mill in the near future. The farmers were constantly demanding the government to clear its stand on the fate of the mill that has stopped operations and had launched an agitation against the government recently.

Sanjivani Sugar mill is the lone sugar mill in the Goa state.
