Goa: Opposition demands setting up of ethanol plant at Sanjivani sugar mill premises

Margoa, Goa: The state government should set up an ethanol plant at the premises of Sanjivani Sugar Mill, said Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, reports Herald Goa.

The factory was the visionary project of the first Chief Minister of Goa late Dayanand Bandodkar to boost agriculture in the state and we will not allow the government to destroy his legacy, he said.

He told a delegation of Gomantak Shetakari Sanghatna that met him and urged to raise this issue in the forthcoming Assembly session.

“The chief minister should clear their pending compensation and consider their demand of setting up of an ethanol plant,” he said.

“I will raise the issue before the Government to resolve their issues on a priority basis,” said Yuri.
