Government takes step to increase income of sugarcane farmers

Lucknow: Cooperative Cane Development Societies of the State provides agricultural inputs in loan to their member farmers taking cash credit limit from District Cooperative Banks under NABARD Scheme. For this, the loan limit of sugarcane farmers is also set, which was fixed at a maximum of 50,000(fifty thousand rupees) per member.

In view of the demand of sugarcane farmers, orders have been issued by Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, Commissioner, cane & Sugar / Registrar, Cooperative cane / Sugar Mill Societies, U.P. to increase the existing limit of agricultural loans under NABARD scheme from Rs. 50,000(fifty thousand) to Rs.75,000 (seventy-five thousand) per farmer member For sugarcane crop. By increasing the loan limit, cane farmers will be able to get sufficient agricultural inputs in loan, which will help in increasing the production and the income of sugarcane farmers.
