Guardian Secretary holds review meet on drought-mitigation measures

Parbhani, May 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed the District Guardian Secretaries to tour the drought-hit parts in their respective districts so as to oversee effective implementation of relief measures.

Following the CM’s direction, the Parbhani Guardian Secretary Vinita Singhal held a review meet with the concerned officials at the District Collector Office here on Saturday.

The meet was attended by the Collector P Shiv Shankar, Zilla Parishad B P Prithviraj, Municipal Commissioner Ramesh Pawar, Upper District Collector Vishwabhar Gawande, Resident Deputy Collector Ankush Pinate as well as district-level officials.

During the meet, Parbhani Guardian Secretary Singhal noted that the severe water-scarcity in the district and reviewed the water conservation works.

She prominently talked about the measures of wells acquisition and water supply schemes to mitigate calamitous effects of drought.

Ms Singhal said that the concerned officers must visit the affected villages to seek information about the existing situation, and implement relief measures on urgent basis.

She further discussed the role being played by the Municipal Corporation as well as inquired about the works implemented on Gram Panchayat level.
