IMD forecasts twin Western Disturbances to bring rain and snow across North India from 19th-23rd February

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the impact of two Western Disturbances on North India. Expect widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the Western Himalayan Region from the 19th to the 21st of February 2024. Hailstorm activity is anticipated at isolated locations in Jammu division and Himachal Pradesh on the 19th, and in Uttarakhand on the 19th and 20th of February 2024.

Anticipate scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh from the 19th to the 21st, in East Uttar Pradesh from the 20th to the 22nd, and isolated light to moderate rainfall over North Rajasthan from the 19th to the 21st.

Hailstorm activity is expected at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, and North Rajasthan on the 19th and 20th, and in West Uttar Pradesh on the 20th of February 2024.
In Northeast India, from the 20th to the 23rd of February 2024, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, is likely. Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are also expected in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, with rainfall in Assam & Meghalaya on the 21st and 22nd, and in Nagaland on the 22nd of February 2024.

Additionally, dense fog conditions are predicted to prevail in the morning hours in isolated pockets of Odisha on the 20th of February 2024
