Incidents of thefts on rise in premises of Shreeram Sugar Mills

Rautahat: Residents residing in the premises of Shreeram Sugar Mills in Garuda area of Rautahat have complained that the incidents of thefts have been increasing and the mill administration is not paying attention to this.

According to the local media report, one of the residents said,“Every night the burglars break-in the residential quarters and steal valuables but the mill management is not paying attention to our complaints.”

The mill closed its operations two years ago but the workers denied leaving the residential quarters demanding the pending salaries and allowances.

“The industry management is compelling us to leave the area by cutting power supply and using other methods but we want our pending dues before we leave the area,” said another resident.

“The thieves have stolen copper wire, battery and electric wires from the factory premises and despite our information, the mill management has not taken any step to keep check on this,” he said.

Ashok Yadav, social worker and chairperson, Sugarcane Producers Association has demanded that the police should arrest the people in the management of the mill but all are at large.
