Jamkhandi Sugars plans to expand its Vijayapura unit in Karnataka

Jamkhandi Sugars plans to expand the capacity of its sugar plant from 3,500 tccpd to 10,000 tccpd at Naad village in the Vijayapura district of Karnataka, reports Projects Today.

It will also expand a co-generation power plant from 27.5 MW to 34.5 MW and install a new distillery unit of 300 klpd capacity apart from the waste-based captive power plant of 4 MW.

The company is awaiting environmental clearance and financial closure for the project. The company is yet to finalize the contractor and machinery suppliers. The work on the project is expected to start by Q1 of FY24.
