Karnataka: Revival of Brahmavar cooperative sugar mill on cards

Shivamogga, Karnataka: Keeping an aim to revive the Brahmavar Cooperative Sugar mill, the experts from NMAM Institute of Technology in Nitte have conducted a study of the several aspects of the mill including its carrying capacity and present condition of the machines.

The team of experts led by Dr Shashikanth, head of the mechanical department of the college, and others also conducted discussion with the management committee regarding the revival of the mill, the market situation and the ancillary units.

According to the news report published in Deccanherald.com, President Bikkadi Suprasad Shetty said, the experts will also communicate with the public and gather their opinion regarding mill’s revival which was shut down in 2004.

“There was a plan to promote the cultivation of sugarcane on 2000 acres of land in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts. The farmers will be soon motivated to take up cane cultivation and help in mill’s revival,” he further added.
