Mysuru, Karnataka: The State Sugarcane Growers’ Association will launch a protest on November 2 to press for their demand to increase the sugarcane purchase price.
Kuruburu Shanthakumar, president of the organization said, “So far nothing has happened on our demand regarding the hike in SAP prices. We want the government to hike SAP prices so that sugarcane farmer can survive by taking cane cultivation. We also want the government to compensate sugarcane farmers that were severely hit by recent floods,” he said.
“We have decided to launch an agitation on November 2 at all the district headquarters in the state for our demand,” he said.
