Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rain and strong wind on Tuesday in Kerala. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has issued the warning and urged the public to stay at homes and be prepared for the same.
The government has prohibited fishing activities from Tuesday till further notice owing to the IMD warning. Those who are out at sea have been advised to make for the nearest coast by Monday night.
The government officials have been asked to make arrangements to tackle any untoward situation during the heavy rainfall in the state.
The districts like Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Kollam are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday and they have been put on yellow alerts.
