Make farmers realise impact of stubble burning: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tells officers

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has raised concern over the pollution due to stubble burning and asked the officials to spread awareness among farmers about its impact on the environment, reports Dailypioneer.

CM has asked the officials to set up camps for district-level officers in sensitive villages and spread awareness among farmers about stubble fermentation by watering it and adding urea to it.

Devesh Chaturvedi, additional chief secretary (Agriculture) informed the CM that in every district the stubble was being taken to ‘gaushalas’. To reduce the incidents of stubble burning the ‘Parali Do, Khaad Lo’ programme is being promoted in the state, he said.

There is no evidence of stubble burning in several districts including Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Sonbhadra, Mahoba, Azamgarh, Amroha and Agra, he said.
