Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed on 19 October at 49.54 points lower at 61,716.05. Nifty ended 58.30 points lower at 18,418.75.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 18 October at 459.64 points higher at 61,765.59. Nifty ended 138.50 points higher at 18,477.05.
Tech Mahindra and L&T were top gainers on both Nifty50 and Sensex. Both shares gained between 3 to 5 per cent. Other gainers on Nifty were Infosys, Bajaj FinServ and Kotak Bank. ITC, Tata Motors, Eicher Motor dragged the Nifty50 most.
