Odisha to get three new ethanol plants

Bhubaneswar: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) Chaired by the Chief Secretary Sri Pradeep Ku Jena approved 8 industrial projects with a cumulative investment of approximately Rs 1250 Crores in Odisha. This include setting up of three ethanol plants worth Rs 814.35 crore.

The ethanol plants will be grain-based and would set up by a leading ethanol producer in Western parts of the state. It is expected to generate employment for around 500 people.

Of the three proposed plants, one would be set up at IDCO industrial estate, Bamani Nabrangpur district with an investment of Rs 293.54 crore. The second plant would be set up in Balangir district with an investment of Rs 250 crore and the remaining plant would be set up in Sonepur district by investing Rs 271 crore.
