Order was politically motivated: Patil on sugar mill’s closure notice

Bengaluru: MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has stated that State Pollution Control Board’s (KSPCB) order to close a sugar factory located at Chhimmaidlai village in Kalaburagi, citing various environmental violations, was politically motivated, reported The Hindusan Times.

Yatnal responded to the notice, asserting on social media that the KSPCB order was politically motivated. He defended the establishment of the factory in an underdeveloped region to create jobs for locals. “The factory was established to help farmers and create employment in a backward region. We will challenge this in court. I am not afraid of such notices and orders,” he added.
