Islampur: P R Patil, chairman of Rajarambapu cooperative sugar factory, will be the new president of the Maharashtra State Co-operative Sugar Factories Federation.
NCP chief and former Union Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar made the announcement in this regard during the felicitation of Patil at his native village Kurlup in Sangli district.
Addressing the gathering, Pawar said, “Patil has spent more than 51 years in the cooperative sector. He was director of the Rajarambapu cooperative sugar mill for 51 years and has played the role of the chairman of the sugar mill for more than 25 years. Considering his contribution in the cooperative sector, it has been decided to offer him the opportunity to play major role as the president of MSCSFF.”
He will be replacing existing president Jayprakash Dandegaonkar whose tenure ends in March this year.
