Pakistan: 2200 bags of hoarded sugar recovered from mill

Burewala, Pakistan: District administration recovered 2200 bags of sugar that was found stored in a mill for profiteering, reports local media.

The mill was sealed on Wednesday, said the officials.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of district administration led by Assistant Commissioner raided a private sugar mill belonging to Server Khan at Cahndna Chowk and recovered 2200 sacks of sugar, according to the officials from the district administration.

The mill has been sealed on the spot and the administration has initiated legal action against the mill.

The government has initiated action against the hoarders and is keeping a check to ensure that the commodity is not sold at higher rates in the domestic markets.
