Pakistan: ACE seizes sugar stocks worth Rs 100 million

Rahim Yar Khan: Initiating action against the former ministers Khusro Bakhtyar and Hashim Jawan the Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) officials seized sugar stocks worth Rs 100 million from RYK Sugar Mills owned by them, reports Dawn.

Manzoor Warraich, Bhatti’s lawyer said that there was no mention of Bhatti’s investment in FIR No 1/23 and he had been already granted bail without remand.

The action against the sugar mills was illegal, said Warraich.

He further explained that in FIR No 28/23, the accusation was related to the commission of Rs5 million in the construction of roads in Mandi Bahauddin district, under the jurisdiction of the Gujranwala ACE.

There are no specific allegations against the sugar mills; he said that the weak state of the law and courts have led to the continuation of action against the concerned persons.
