Islamabad: The domestic prices of sugar would come down as soon as the imported sugar arrives in the country, said Hammad Azhar, Industries and Production Minister, Pakistan.
Speaking to media persons, he said, once the imported sugar arrives in the country, the hoarders, who have stored commodities, would release in the open market, which would lead to a further reduction in sugar rates. The price of sugar is already declining since we announced the importation of the commodity.
The Pakistan government allowed import of 3 lakh tonnes of sugar. The Economic Coordination Committee had given nod for the same.
