Pakistan: Seized sugar will be sold out in open market at government rates

Faisalabad: Coronavirus has impacted Pakistan and the country’s sugar industry. Pakistan is facing sugar scarcity and also its price is skyrocketed in many regions.

Cracking the whip on sugar hoarders, the tehsil office raided a warehouse located in the town and seized 938 bags of rice and 635 bags of sugar that was being illegally hoarded.

The police along with assistant Commissioner Samundri Faisal Sultan conducted the raid. A case has been registered against the hoarders under relevant sections. The seized commodities will be sold in the open market at the government rate.

The administration has initiated action against hoarders after Prime Minister Imran Khan issued directives to low down sugar prices in the country.
