Pakistan: Sugar mill workers demand restoration of their jobs

Lahore (Pakistan): The sugar mill workers under the banner of the Sindh Sugar Mills Workers Federation organized a rally and protested against the termination of employees from the Sakrand Sugar Mill. The agitators have demanded the restoration of their jobs and payment of their pending salaries immediately.

The agitators also organized a token hunger strike outside the office of the local press club for their demands. The agitators stated that they have not received salaries from the Sugar mill from the last eight months. The mill administration has removed many employees from their jobs leaving them under financial distress.

The leaders of the association said, we have asked the mill administration to restore the jobs of the people and deposit their pending salaries in their bank accounts immediately.
