Pashchim Pradesh Mukti Morcha demands hike in sugarcane price

Deoband, Uttar Pradesh: Bhagat Singh Verma, national president of Pashchim Pradesh Mukti Morcha, has demanded a hike in sugarcane price. Also, he asked sugar mills to clear the pending cane arrears. He was speaking during the meeting with sugarcane farmers in Nuna Badi village in the district.

Verma said, “The government should ensure that all the sugar mills in the district start operations by October 25. The current sugarcane prices are not enough to help farmers to meet their daily needs and we want the government to hike the prices to Rs 600 per quintal.”
