Piyush Goyal launches new Sugar-Ethanol portal

New Delhi: Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Commerce & Industry and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal launched new Sugar-Ethanol Portal on July 05, marking a significant step towards streamlining operations within the industry. This will enable the sugar industry to obtain all requisite approvals & licenses of concerned government departments expeditiously.

The portal, unveiled during the ‘National Conference of Food Ministers of States/UTs’, aims to enhance the production and utilization of ethanol derived from sugarcane in India. This portal will assist in policy making as all the data regarding sugar and ethanol will be available online to the government agencies.

A dynamic dashboard will also be helpful in regular monitoring of sugar production, dispatch, ethanol production and cane dues of farmers. This will bring complete transparency and also provide actionable insights to the stakeholders.

The portal demonstrates the government’s commitment to promoting a conducive business environment for the sector. With improved monitoring and streamlined processes, the portal will assist in increasing efficiency and productivity of the sector while ensuring timely payment of cane dues to farmers.
