Punjab: Construction of new yard at Cooperative sugar mill to be completed by November 20

Amritsar (Punjab): Officials from the Cooperative sugar mill in Bhalla Pind, located near Ajnala, have announced that the construction of the new yard is on track for completion before November 20, reported Tribune India.

This development aims to facilitate a seamless experience for sugarcane farmers during the transportation of their produce.

In a recent visit to the mill, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal emphasized the need for a fair and impartial system in issuing slips to all farmers. These slips, which specify the designated day for delivering their sugarcane, play a important role in streamlining the procurement process and managing the influx of produce. Minister Dhaliwal stressed the government’s commitment to ensuring that sugarcane farmers receive their payments within seven days of procurement.

For the past three decades, local growers have encountered challenges at the yard due to its lack of concrete paving. The introduction of the new yard is expected to bring a transformative experience for farmers, marking a significant improvement in their operations. Minister Dhaliwal expressed optimism that this development would usher in a positive change for the farming community.
