The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. On June 08, Sensex closed 214.85 points lower at 54,892.49. Nifty ended 60.10 points low at 16,356.25.
In the previous season, on June 07, Sensex closed 567.98 points lower at 55,107.34. Nifty ended 153.20 points low at 16,416.35.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) increased the policy repo rate by 50 basis points to 4.9 per cent. Also it retained the real GDP projection of 7.2 per cent for the year FY 2022-23.
Addressing a press conference following a three-day meeting of the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on Wednesday announced that the inflation is now projected at 6.7 per cent.
