Benchmark indices ended higher today. Sensex ended 240.98 points up at 65,628.14, whereas Nifty concluded 93.50 points up at 19,528.80.
In the previous season, the BSE barometer closed higher by 555.75 points or 0.86 per cent at 65,387.16 with 26 of its constituents ending in the green. The index opened higher and later touched a high of 19,435.30 in day trading. It touched a low of 64,818.37.
Coal India, Wipro, HCL Technologies, UltraTech Cement and Tata Steel are among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Axis Bank, M&M, Nestle India, ITC and Asian Paints.
