Sensex, Nifty start on a cautious note amid weak global cues

Mumbai: Sensex, Nifty opened on a tepid note as fresh concerns over the US-China trade deal kept global investors on edge.

Sensex on Thursday was trading 41.31 points lower at 40,610, while NSE Nifty slipped 17.75 points at 11,981 in morning trade.

Similarly, at 10:15 am, Sensex was trading at 40,630 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,988 points.

L&T, IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech, SBI were among the top gainers.

Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, RIL, and M&M were among the top losers today.

On the currency front, the rupee depreciated 2 paise (intra-day) against the US dollar to trade at 71.83 in early session.
