Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex rallied in opening trade on Friday ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy decision. At 10:15 am, the 30-share index was trading 40 points higher at 40,223, and the NSE Nifty soared 16 points to 11,851.
Tata Steel was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by Bharti Airtel, L&T, M&M, Bajaj Finance and HDFC. On the other hand, HUL, Reliance Industries, TCS, Nestle India and Tech Mahindra were among the laggards.
Sensex closed on October 8, 2020, at 303.72 points high at 40,182.67. Nifty ended 95.75 points high at 11,834.60.
