Sensex rises in opening trade; Nifty below 11,300

Mumbai: Domestic equity benchmark Sensex jumped over 100 points in opening session on Wednesday tracking positive cues from Asian peers.

At 10:00 am, the Sensex was trading 99.90 points lower at 38,393.05. Similarly, the Nifty was trading 17.60 points lower to 11,282.95.

IndusInd Bank was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, L&T and ICICI Bank.

On the other hand, Infosys, HCL Tech, Nestle India, M&M, Reliance Industries and Tech Mahindra were among the laggards.

In the previous season, Equity benchmark indices ended higher on Tuesday. Sensex closed on July 28, 2020 at 558.22 points higher at 38,492.95. Nifty ended 168.75 points high at 11,300.55.
