Lucknow, Jun 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday claimed that economic condition of farmers was improved in the state in past two years due to several initiatives taken by state and Central government.

With an aim to Boost the sugar industry in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi stressed on the opening on news sugar mills in the state.

Addressing the media here after inauguration of ‘Million Farmer’s school’ here on Lok Bhawan CM Yogi said, “We are setting up new sugar mills in the state and expanding capacities of the existing ones. In previous years, sugar mills were being sold to private companies, but now no more mills would be close. It will be run by the government.”

CM yogi said that farmers were compelled to commit suicide due to political ignorance but BJP governments at Center and states have improved their condition a lot. He said that he himself supervise disposal of farmer’s grievances and instruct concerned officers to take swift actions.

He said that about 1.3 crore farmers have received installments of Rs 2,000 under Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi while other eligible farmers will get benefit of the scheme soon. He said that dues of sugarcane farmers were cleared in past two years.
