Shamli sugar mill to install new turbine

Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: Shamli sugar mill would install a new turbine brought from Biswa sugar mill Sitapur that would help in increasing the crushing capacity of the mill, reports Live Hindustan.

The existing crushing capacity of the mill was 75,000 quintals but was reduced to 40-45,000 quintals as the turbine was damaged. A worker in the mill was injured after a joint at the turbine burst out on November 29 and he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Since then the mill administration has been working on the repair work of the turbine to avoid any mishaps and increase the crushing capacity of the mill.

Chief Manager of the mill Sushil Khokhar has assured farmers that the mill would start crushing cane at full to its capacity within the next few days.
