Small sugar prices recovered modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today following renewed demand from stockists and bulk consumers.
While, medium sugar slipped owing to subdued demand from stockists and retailers.
Small sugar (S-30) gained by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 2,682/2,820 from last Saturday’s closing level of Rs 2,676/2,820.
However, medium sugar (M-30) declined by Rs 12/90 per quintal to Rs 2,758/2,900 as against Rs 2,770/2,990 previously.
Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,682/2,820 (Rs 2,676/2,820).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,758/2,900 (Rs 2,770/2,990).
