SNSI organises seminar on ‘Bio-energy from sugar Industry – A way forward from sustainability’

Belgavi: The S Nijalingappa sugar institute in an association with National Sugar Institute organised a seminar on Bio-energy from sugar Industry- A way forward from sustainability’ on 12th April 2019, at Belgavi, Karnataka.

The one-day seminar featured a day-long symposium, which included talks on Bio-Energy form sugar industry.

Speaking at an event, Dr. Seema Paroha, Head of Alcohol Technology Division, National Sugar Institute said, “The Utilization of biomass for production of cleaner and greener energy for value addition, production of ethanol and bio-CNG has gained greater significance.”

Mr. GS Rao, MD, Global cane sugar services Pvt.Ltd presented a research paper on ‘Ethanol Blending Program with dual feed distilleries’.

Stressing on future, Dr.R.B.Khandgave, Director, S Nijalingappa sugar institute said, “There is a need to improve the conversion from a single product to multi-product to remain in the future competition of sugar industry.”
