Sugar Eases On Reduced Demand

Mumbai, Apr 16 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugar eased at the Vashi wholesale market here today on reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid subdued millers offtake.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 2/35 per quintal to Rs 2,820/3,000 from last Saturday’s level of Rs 2,822/3,035.

Medium sugar (M-30) also went down by Rs 16 per quintal to Rs 2,920/3,190 as against Rs 2,920/3,206.

Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,820/3,000 (Rs 2,822/3,035).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,920/3,190 (Rs 2,920/3,206).
