Nawanshahr, Punjab: Due to coronavirus pandemic, sugar mills across India are facing a tough time. Due to which they are unable to clear cane dues.
According to the media report published in Dainik Jagran, MLA Angad Singh informed that the state government has released an amount of around Rs 15 crore to the Nawanshahr sugar mill. Due to which about 76 per cent payment of the season 2019-20 has been sent to the farmers’ accounts.
He assured that the remaining amount will also be released soon. The mill has also started repair and maintenance work for the next cane crushing season.
