Sugar mills in Fiji produce 119,520 tonnes of sugar

Three sugar mills from Fiji have produced 119,520 tonnes of sugar by crushing 1,334,570 tonnes of cane.

According to the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC), the mills have produced one tonne of sugar by crushing 11.2 tonnes of cane.

FSC has stated that the purity of cane has been affected adversely due to the weather. The company added the final bulk sugar export for 2020 would commence loading in Lautoka and later in Labasa from October 24, 2020.

The FSC will sell 30,000 tonnes of raw sugar to the UK.
