Mumbai: The sugar stocks performed well today in the intra-day deals. Magadh Sugar and Energy was nearly 14 per cent higher at 114.80 on Thursday afternoon. KCP Sugar, Uttar Sugar, Mawana Sugar, Baja Hindusthan and Indian Sucrose were trading up between 9 per cent to 11 per cent at around 2.30 pm.
Government has yet not announced the sugar export policy 2020-21 and the market is expecting that it might be declared soon to remove surplus sugar inventory in the system.
