Sugar Weakens On Lower Demand

Mumbai, Apr 9 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugar weakened at the Vashi wholesale market here today on lower demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid sluggish millers offtake.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 30/11 per quintal to Rs 2,920/3,105 from last Saturday’s level of Rs 2,950/3,116.

Medium sugar (M-30) also dropped by Rs 30 per quintal to Rs 3,020/3,252 as against Rs 3,050/3,252.

Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,920/3,105 (Rs 2,950/3,116).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,020/3,252 (Rs 3,050/3,252). PTI BPD SBT
