Jagtial: Sugarcane farmers met district collector on Tuesday after agitation for their demand of reopening of Mutyampeta sugar mill on Monday. The farmers stated that they were suffering due to the closure of the factory. The farmers have requested the Collector to grant Rs 100 crore to the factory for its revival.
Farmers alleged that before they were elected, the TRS promised that within 100 days of coming to power, the factory would be taken over and run by the government.
The collector stated that their demands would be conveyed to the government.
