Sangli: Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana, farmers organisation, staged a demonstration in Sangli against the new farm bills. They launched agitation under the leadership of their leader Raju Shetty. The farmers staged a protest at Anjali toll plaza on Sangli-Kolhapur national highway against farmer farms bills and demanded its cancellation.
Traffic on the road was disrupted due to the agitation and the police had to divert the traffic using alternate routes.
Addressing the gathering, Shetty said that the government has betrayed the farmers and we will continue our agitation till the government cancels these new farm bills.
