Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edpapadi K Palaniswami announced that government will extend the free ration items to cardholders for June also.
Addressing the people on television, he said, the government is taking steps on a war footing to help the affected people amid lockdown. The government had after announcing lockdown for the first time had announced free ration for the month of April and was subsequently extended to the May after extending lockdown. As the lockdown has been again extended, we have decided to extend the free ration items for June also.
The government is providing free sugar, rice, pulses, edible oil on ration card to the cardholders.
