Patna: Like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, sugar millers from Bihar too are gearing up to commence the crushing season 2019-2020. Tirupati sugar mill from Bihar will begin crushing from November 4, and all preparation has been done for the same.
Mill MD Deepak Yadav addressing a press conference on Friday said, “Due to rainfall, at some field, there is water logging. Therefore it has been decided to start crushing season from November 4. The preparations are in the final phase.”
“In last season we had purchased cane worth Rs 380 crore and have almost paid all the dues. We are yet to pay Rs 13.50 lakh to farmers due to issues in their bank documents. We have appealed the farmers to come with valid documents. Their arrears too are likely to clear very soon. We are planning for crushing more sugarcane than previous season this time,” Yadav further added.
