99 per cent cane dues cleared of previous season: Yogi Adityanath

Meerut: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the ‘Gram Parikrama Yatra’ from Shuktirth in Muzaffarnagar district on Monday. During the launch, he engaged with beneficiaries of various government schemes, emphasizing that over 99 percent of last year’s sugarcane dues have been disbursed.

Addressing the crowd, the Chief Minister stated, “Out of the 119 sugar mills operational in the state, 105 are settling payments to sugarcane farmers within ten days. We are pressuring the remaining mills to clear payments promptly. The double-engine government is committed to ensuring that hardworking ‘Annadata’ farmers receive their dues on time.”

He highlighted the recognition of Muzaffarnagar for its organic jaggery, stating that the jaggery from this region is famous not only in the state but also in the country and at the global level.

The event witnessed the participation of several notable figures, including BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Sanjeev Kumar Baliyan, UP Minister of State for Vocational Education Kapil Dev Aggarwal, District Panchayat President Veerpal Nirwal, Fatehpur Sikri MP Rajkumar Chahar, MLC Vandana Verma, among others.
