Trading Corporation of Bangladesh hikes sugar prices

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh has increased sugar prices in the domestic market ahead of the month of Ramadan.

As per the new rates, the buyer will have to pay 10% higher to TK 55 for 1 kg sugar from TCB in Dhaka, Chattogram and other parts of the country

According to the media report, TCB spokesperson Humayun Kabir said, “The adjustment has been made to reduce the gap between market price and sale price.”

The move may impact the poor people who get sugar from TCP at rates lower than the market rate.
