Training program for technical personnel related to quality control of sugar mills of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation starts at NSI

02-week training program for technical personnel related to quality control of sugar mills of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation started today in the institute. 40 technicians from various sugar mills are participating in this training program to be given in 02 phases of two weeks each.

To achieve the desired efficiency in sugar mills, it is necessary to ensure the prescribed process parameters by doing a thorough analysis of juice, syrup, sugar and different types of molasses during processing. To improve the productivity and quality of sugar in the Federation factories, Shri Ramakant Pandey, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Mills Association, requested National Sugar Institute to provide theoretical and practical information on all these aspects to the technicians related to quality control of the sugar mills of the Federation.

Director, National Sugar Institute, Prof. Narendra Mohan said that during this program, technical personnel will be given information about the latest analytical instruments and equipment used in analysis, their uses and how to analyze the various sugar house products as per international standards. Also, environmental protection is a matter of deep concern, hence these technical personnel will be given theoretical and practical exposure about these issues and for analyzing the effluent from sugar mills in light of guidelines of Central Pollution Control Board.

The nodal officer of the program, Mr. Ashok Kumar Garg said that various sections of the institute will participate in this training program and subject experts will provide complete information on the topics referred to them so that the efficiency and quality of sugar of the sugar mills of the Federation factories can be improved.
