Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni commissions ethanol factory

Nwoya, Uganda: Uganda President Yoweri Museveni commissioned the Bukona agro-processors sugar factory and distillery at Lapem village in Nwoya district. It belongs to the Indian proprietor and Managing Director, Praviin Krekal.

He also launched the green fuel project of the company that produces ethanol stoves from cassava. Museveni stated that if the project succeeds the country will export fuel to earn money and increase the livelihood of the people.

Museveni said, “Traditionally we used to cook using maize but this man has shown the technology of production of petrol from cassava. This will help in reducing our poverty.”

“The industry set up here belong to no one but to us. They help in contributing to our GDP,” he further added.
