Unusual climate change impacts sugarcane and other farmers

Kochi: The unexpected change in the climate due to unseasonal rainfall has impacted farmers most and they are unable to come over it financially as well as individually.

The Western Ghats region of Tamil Nadu received unseasonal rainfall impacting the cultivation in these villages. Sugarcane and other crops cultivation in villages in Idukki, bordering Tamil Nadu was completely damaged as the farmers witnessed unusual climate for more than two months.

Marayoor, the village in Idukki which borders Tamil Nadu, witnessed unusual climate for more than two months leading to large-scale damage of crops, including vegetables and sugarcane.
